Julie is the founder and Director of Enable Therapy Services and is committed to offering rehabilitation to the highest standards.
She has worked for 27 years within the public and private sectors. In 2008 she set up Enable Therapy Services specialising in providing rehabilitation reports and early intervention to solicitors, insurance and case management companies within the personal injury sectors under the rehabilitation code.
Julie has vast experience providing Occupational Therapy assessments to patients with diverse, complex and multiple pathological presentations with particular interest with patients who have fallen or at risk of falling; which she was clinical lead within the Leeds Hospitals Trust for 9 years. She undertakes functional assessments of daily living skills including risk assessments, assesses and treats patients with a variety of psychological, cognitive, perceptual and social needs.
Her past experience includes 8 years working in the field of adult neurology with special interest in patients who have suffered from a stroke. Further experience has been gained in the fields of orthopaedics, upper and lower limb amputees and care of the elderly.
Julie worked in an outreach service for 2 years undertaking functional, environmental, psychological and social assessments and treatments of patients with multiple pathologies within their own homes reporting back to consultants and making necessary referrals to the appropriate agencies.
Previously, Julie was a Clinical co-ordinator for Living Care Services based at the David Lloyd club in Leeds, working for the Leeds PCT’s assessing the needs of long term care and terminally ill patients.
Senior Occupational Therapist at the Bupa and Nuffield Hospitals in Leeds. Julie is an approved wheelchair therapist and a safer moving and handling link worker. Julie is State registered with The Health Professions Council, and is a member of the British association of Occupational Therapists and The Occupational Therapists in Independent Practice.
